INDEPENDENT LABORATORY TEST RESULTS FOR THE GALCO INSTRUCTORS AND REINFORCED INSTRUCTORS PANTS/HOLSTER BELT.

The Galco Instructors belt and Reinforced Instructors belt were designed solely as pants and holster belts. In an extreme emergency in the absence of proper gear it would be better suited for rescue operations than a traditional leather pants belt. However this belt was not designed for rappelling or any intentional body suspension, or as a safety device or for hoisting weight overhead. Using this belt other than as a pants or gun holster belt may result in severe injury or death.

The Tensile Strength Straight Pull Test: is the standard test used by some of our competitors to demonstrate the strength of their belt. We have therefore duplicated this test on our belts for comparison only. Since this product is designed to be used around the waist we question the relevance of this test.

Fastened Around Waist and Pulled from Buckle Loop Test:
Galco requested this test of the laboratory as a practical way to demonstrate the actual working strength of the belt when worn on the waist. The belt was put around a stationary large-diameter steel post and buckled exactly as one would buckle it to wear around the waist. The hydraulic arm of the testing machine was attached to the buckle loop with an attachment pin and pulled until failure.

METL Metals Engineering & Testing Laboratories performed both of the tests described above on Instructors and Reinforced instructors belts taken from current Galco production to provide the results below:
